In a world this big, it is easy to feel small. Especially now when headlines about a global pandemic are replaced by even more horrific ones telling stories of incredible injustice, inequality and violence. It is easy to feel like you are just one ordinary person – what difference could you possibly make? But by believing in your insignificance, you deny others the opportunity to experience empathy, compassion, wonder, love, hope, justice through you.

Your individual gifts are what contribute to the collective – your voice, actions, courage matter. Maybe you’re not a politician in a position of power or an influencer with a million followers or an athlete, rock star, actor that’s worshipped by the masses. But instead of rationalizing who you are not, recognize who you are.

Maybe you’re a child who can sing and you use your voice to tell your truth. Maybe you’re a photographer and you open people’s minds with your lens. Maybe you’re a delivery person and you take a moment to pray outside someone’s door. Maybe you run an amusement park and you fill a ride with teddy bears just to make some kids laugh. Maybe you’re a writer and you create a newsletter to hopefully bring a little light to someone’s day.

Work with who you are and share it with the world – it needs you.
